Suggestions

Here are a few suggestions I hope the staff approve them.


*List of Characters
May I suggest that adding a list of all the characters, whether teachers or students in one topic that is monitored/moderated by one of the staff would be a pleasent idea for helping out the newcomers in finding out what they are after and who is who. Also, that would seem a bit decent in my point of view.

*New Skin/Theme
Although this doesn't seem to be extremely important at the very moment but having a lighter theme or skin would seem much more attractive from several perspectives. It would be catchy and would brighten the day instead of pale black. Mixing up colors is nice.

*Section Pictures
Adding up a picture below each forum (section) would be fantastic! It helps the roleplayers imagine the place easier thus giving them more chances and opening more doors for them to get into details about subtle things. I hope I conveyed this suggestion/idea well.


Sadly, that's all I can think of right now that would improve the forum in general. I'll post any more suggestions once they hit me. =P

*List of Characters
I think this is a great idea. A register of characters containing maybe a link to their profile and basic info like what year they're in/what they teach. But I'd take this even further, I think that each class should have a register. It would take some plugging through all the schedule threads to create, but I'd happily do that myself.

*New Skin/Theme
Also a good idea. I'm pretty sure you can just download some new skins onto the site through the admin panel. It takes no time and is really easy. Well, it is on phpbbnow forums.

*Section Pictures
This one I'm not too sure about. It's not that it's a bad idea, it's a great idea. It's just not practical. You'd have to watch one or more highschool based animes and painstakingly find every suitable image. Either that or find them all online, and that would be even more difficult. This is a huge forum with a funk-ton of boards, so finding an image for each one would be hell.
I feel kind of bad for pretty much stomping all over that one, but it was a nice idea.

About the last idea: Though I have exams pretty soon, I can personally work on it and edit picture to a specific size that matches each section

Also, about the first suggestion I made; I think it can be explored into many useful information.

As for the skin/theme, I'd like to point out that a new banner/header would seem great as well.

About a month ago I sent an email out to some people registered to WHA anouncing that if they do not log on or visit or reply to my email that if they do not with in 120 days that their account will be terminated, but i will save their information for if they do come back.

The ideas you propose do sound good, but the list of characters sould wait untill some of the profiles are for sure out of the way.

And of couse i have sent a reminder to them last week, and will send another reminder at the beginning of 2010.

The new skin thing, in the tektek site where you made your character, there are accesories that allow you to change the skins to a darker skin or a lighter skin. if thats what you mean. but if it's not what you mean then you'll have to show me an example.

Your section Pictures idea, if you can give me the pictures and everyone agrees on them I'll put the pictures up in the way you sugest.

For the skin/theme thing, I don't think he means the tektek avatars...I think he means the site skin, like how it's black, and all-just trying to help, (if you can call it help).

I think you understood my skin/theme idea in a wrong way. I meant that this forum should get a new skin/theme, a lighter one instead of a pale black.

As for the pictures; it will take a long, long time! If you can wait, then that's great.

Skin - Sure would be a good idea to lighten the atmosphere around here good idea to look into that however i would like to keep the banner as it is...

I meant a single topic to maintain them all in alpahebt order. I can create such a topic myself in the Q&A section if the staff would allow it and pin it. I'd monitor and moderate it and update it regularly.

As for the pictures, I can easily create them but first I need the skin updated so the pictures would match. Also, I can create a skin if you guys are interested but that means I need access to the ACP. And for the banner; I think it would be best if it is changed; perhaps having a small pick-out from it and adding it to a new banner with a name and a suitable frame would be cool I guess.


By the way, I noticed that there are many sections here that mostly inactive and some of the topics haven't been posted in by almost a month =/ That's kinda dead. I suggest making a forum clean up that takes place once in a week. Forum clean up is basically where you delete/move topics to a place where regular members have no access to.

I must say this is rather admirable, but personaly I would rather see you in charge of this forum.

Yes, we finally got quick replies!

All the suggestions in the first post are a good idea, though I'm fine with the skin of this thread (yes, it's black and dull, but it always made me think that it's different from other boards I have seen before.. And because I'm used to it (lol) ), and I'm a bit doubtful about the Section Pictures. That would take too much time (as it was already said before) and looking for pictures would be too hard.

As for who should own this thread... Really, Kenneth, Zack, both of them, they were both here when this place began, either of them can rule this place. They're both busy and free at times, so really, as long as this place runs I'm fine with either one of them.

I don't want to sound like a Kenneth hater, I'm not, but he wasn't here at the beggining. Well, that depends what you count as the beggining, but still.
If Zack wants to give up his place, that's cool, but I just think the users should have a little more say or awareness than a casual mention in a random thread.

About 1-2 months ago there were only 5-8 people active on this site including me. If I didn't ask to take charge some of the people in this topic wouldn't be able to rp yet. I'm on here as much as I can, and it is Christmas so yeah, I'm going to be a little bussy durring this time, a lot of people are.

As for the reason this topic was made in the first place, I'm still concidering the idea's, I'm getting a few things out of the way before getting a few hours to organize and determine what, and how I'm going to take your ideas into action, if I see that it would help.

A few of my thoughts ((keep in mind Im running on probably about a 5 min nap and absolutely no caffiene as well as no real sleep for 3 days))

Id like a bit more information on this because so far Im thinking we can just update the completed profiles topic. I dont want it in the Q&A because thats stricty Q&A no place for a list to be made if anywhere from what I gather it would be on the school board, bulletin topic place

*New Skin/Theme
Im fine-ish on the new skin idea though I have grown to liking the darker tones as its easier on the eyes late at night or early morning. It also seems to make the place calmer in my oppinion.

*Section Pictures
This idea happened on another site I knew and no sooner did they add pictures that members started complaining about having a sort of creative limit to their posts and so on.

((Im most likely going to edit this post to sound smarter or better or whatever but at this moment I dont care hehe))

As for the topic about me owning the forum or not someone can make the topic and Ill post what I need to or if I need to even post at all. Really its the people that run the forum its just one person that carries the weight of a deciding vote or so on. Whatever the members decide...

The list of characters would be different to the character profile board, there would be more immediately useful info straight away and then links to profiles. If you want I can write this up and post it there and if you like it, sticky it, if you don't delete it.

As for new skins it wouldn't replace this one, is would allow members to chose between this one and a more colourful one.

And the pictures. Yeah, I've pretty much said everything I want to already.

As for the adminship, I was just saying. And if you want a hand modding I'd be happy to help.

I'd like to appologise for the late inactivity since I have exams as I stated before in this topic.

Now with that fact pushed aside; I'd like to also mention that I am willing to help once my exams are over which is on 7th Jan 2010. (No we didn't have a X-mas break, that shows how busy my studies were due to the death rates we've been having in here). I have a girlfriend, a family to look after despite the fact that I'm young and other priorities that will keep me busy during my regular days however I won't fail in accessing the forum at least an hour per day; thus, this should be an advantage for finding the pictures and possibly rendering a skin.

I am an ex-editor, code writer and editor as well. Though my knowledge in those two fields met a dead end when I found a new passion (Writing stories that is). I can still crack up my rusty knuckles and get to work if you need some help.

Oh, and about the adminstrator and moderators or whatever; in my honest opinion and limited experience, I say that two admins are enough plus a moderator who is more active than regular members to fill in the doubts. If one of the admins however fails to be online regularly then I'd like to say (without any offence) that this admin whoever he is, should be demoted to a regular member if he can't fit the responsiblity of a forum adminstartion in his busy schedule.
