The Delinquent Roommate (John)

Kan was sitting on the couch, watching some good ol' TV. Kan was watching Sport Highlights... on ESPN... Kan yawned, it was kinda boring... nothing really interested him, until some Boxing Highlights came on. "Well at least this is better then Baseball and Football." Kan chuckled to himself, suddenly, he heard a knock at the door... that must be him. Kan got up slowly and walked to the door, unlocking it, he opened the door...

"Hey?"

John managed to find his way to his dorm room with little trouble. He wished to god he wasn't at this awful school, with all its structure and rules. It made him sick just thinking about that stupid uniform. And his hair, his glorious mohawk, reduced to nothing, it was truly a tragedy to be mourned...

John got to the door. Room number 12. Not a bad number, he guessed, could've been worse... John dropped his heavy suitcase filled with his possessions unceremoniously on the ground and rapped on the door three times. After waiting for all of three seconds the slide of a deadbolt was heard and the door creaked open. A blond haired, blue eyes kid opened the door. He was just a big taller then John and just about as muscular, John hardly felt threatened, especially since he knew this kid was a freshman, the lowliest lifeforms on campus.

"Hey?"

"Hey what? G'outta my way freshman. I don't want any a' your chit chat. I jus' wanna throw my shit somewhere in this room and then get the fuck outta here an' go some place else." John said while dragging his bag into the room, "Nothin' good'll be happenin' on campus, I can tell that much already. Place's a total prison. If you know wha's best for ya, you'd be stayin' outta my way. Got me?"

Kan was taken aback by his bad attitude, what was with this guy? This guy was his roommate? Oh hell no, he didn't need a guy like this in his room...

Kan decided to tell him like it is, "What crawled up your ass and laid eggs? What's with the bad introduction?" Kan said with a hint of attitude in his voice now, if this guy wanted to play that game, he would play it.

"Ya, I'll be staying out of your way, but this is my room originally, and it's gonna stay that way, so you better not make this place one of your shit-holes as well." Kan sighed deeply... what a guy this was...

John looked around the room and thought about what this kid had just said. He had been looking for a fight since he got to this place, and hell if he was gonna pass up a sparkling opportunity like this one. John looked out the open door. Nobody was around. He hefted his bag onto the empty bed a few feet behind him and put down his other stuff where he stood.

"You think you some hot shit than? Is that it?" Before letting the kid answer John threw a right hook at him, aiming right for his head. No freshman was gonna talk to him like that and get away with it...

Kan was expecting something like this... this guy didn't look like the kind who attempts to put you down by cussing, it was the other way around...

It was all too fast, Kan reared his head just in time to avoid the full impact of the shot... but it still hit his mouth, cutting his lip... Kan stepped back... he wanted to fight huh?... Kan clenched his fists, if he wanted to brawl, he was down for it.

Without hesitation, Kan charged forward and threw a left uppercut to his stomach, which he would follow up with a quick right-hand to his face.

John clipped the kid in the mouth, drawing first blood. The kid was quick though, and responded with a shot to his stomach. The blow hit him hard, almost knocking the wind out of him. The kid was no pushover.

Before John could throw another punch the kid came around with a strike to John's jaw. The pain was refreshing, it had been far too long since he had been in any sort of fight, and this kid wasn't half bad.

John lunged towards the kid, trying to grapple him and take him to the ground. If he could get on top of him, the kid wouldn't have a chance.

Kan felt a tight sensation around him... he was trying to get him to the ground!... Kan got into a couple street fights back when he was younger... but that was like... years ago... this man was going to pummel him most likely if he did.

Kan tried his best to keep himself steady so he wouldn't fall... his only chance was to plant him against the wall... Kan did so and with careful planning he directed both of them towards the wall, slamming into it. Kan attempts to throw wild knees into John's body... but as he did, he attempted to elbow him in the face, trying to mimic a MMA fighter.

John forced the kid into a wall. That was not how he planned that to go over, it would be much harder to bring him down now that he had the wall to support himself. The kid then started using his knees and elbows to attack John. John took the blows, each more painful then the last. He waited for just the right moment. The kid picked a knee up from the ground, and as soon as his leg was off the ground John pulled him towards himself. John hoped to make the kid lose balance, bringing him to the ground. And for good measure, he decided to hit him in the face on the way down with his left arm.

Kan was having the advantage... but it would soon be over once the guy grabbed his knee, Kan groaned... he only had one leg to support his balance, and that wouldn't do at all... as John attempted to get him to the ground, he did so and Kan received the punch John sent at him, he took it full on... he was seeing stars for a split second... this guy was no ordinary brawler...

John had the advantage, Kan was unlucky currently as John was on top of him now, Kan had to react fast... but he knew that he would start throwing punches as he had the opportunity... he would have to look for a chance to get back at him.

Once the kid was on the ground John didn't hold back. He laid punch after punch on him. He wasn't going to let up, he wasn't about to lose a fight to a freshman. He admired the kid's bravado though, taking him on and managing to stay fighting this long, it was pretty impressive for just some kid.

John briefly considered cutting the kid some slack. It was very, very briefly though. This is what John lived for. Even if the kid didn't deserve it, John wouldn't relent. He didn't need a reason to fight, fighting is just what he did.

Kan was blocking shots... but a lot of them were slipping through, this guy's shots were wild, but still a pain in the ass... Kan's lip was getting even more bloody, and his nose started bleeding a bit too.

As John threw a punch Kan managed to entangle his arm, and while he did that he attempted to grab the back of his head and bring it towards him, where he could give him a forceful headbutt to the face, and he could be lucky enough if he could switch the position where he could have the advantage.

John's fists smashed into the kid's face one by one. Sure, he managed to block plenty. But the ones that got through were greatly satisfying. The muffled sound of his knuckles hitting the kid was one that filled John with glee.

Suddenly, the kid grabbed John by the back of his head. He pulled his head down and into his own. The kid's forehead smashed right into John's nose, creating a sound crack. The pain of his nose breaking caused John to lurch back and grab his face, it was a reflex more than anything else. But while he was doing this the kid freed himself and knocked John off. Now John was the one on the ground. John tried to make out what the kid was doing but couldn't through his tearing up eyes.

Kan's face was a mess by the end of it... his face started swelling up quite a bit... and it looked like he went 3 rounds getting a moderate beating on his face...

Kan might've went too far, as he did hear a cracking nose from the headbutt he just dealt to him... the man was on the ground, tearing up... Kan could start dealing revenge... but why the hell would he do that? He wasn't like that, he possibly broke the guy's nose, but the minimum he could've done was fracture his nose...

Kan moved towards him slowly... "Y-Yo man... you ok? Should I get you to a Clinic or something?" Kan was kinda worried... if it wasn't for that headbutt he wouldn't have done this...

"S-Shit..." Kan said to himself in a depressed tone, plus, those won't go well with the school... Kan put his hand out for John, "Come on man, get up..."

Of all the places to be hit, why the nose? No matter how many blows John took in his life, a shot to the nose triggered some tear glands or some shit. He didn't know. He may have if he had attended more than the ten days of biology he managed to make it to in his freshman year, but of course, he had better things to do.

As his eyes cleared he sat up and saw the kid. The kid seemed honest to god freaked out. John didn't bother listening to what he was going on about and felt his nose. Yup, definitely broken. It wasn't too bad though, he had gotten worse from a fight. Plenty worse. John grabbed his nose and righted it himself, he cringed as it resituated. He felt that was good enough and reached out for the kids hand.

John grabbed it and pulled the kid in close enough for him to get a good shot and nailed him in the face with another right hook. The kid took the shot wholly unprepared and fell to the ground. John spat out a mouthful of blood (he briefly thought about how that couldn't be good). Once the kid had sat up as well John spoke.

"You got some fight in you, I respect that. What's your name, kid?"

Kan took the hook full on, without any notice, they say the ones you don't see hurt the most, and he definitely didn't see that coming...

Kan felt his legs buckle under him... he fell on his ass and was out of it for a moment... "W-What happened?" Kan suddenly came back to reality and quickly got back up on his feet... Kan felt the pain coming on... Kan cringed, he never felt this... beat up before, it was one heck of a fist-fight...

Kan looked at him for awhile before finally answering his question... "Kan... Kan Ingvar..." Kan wiped the blood from his nose and lips... "How about yours...?"

John finished getting to his feet and whipped the blood from his face with his hand, then onto his white shirt.

"John Lydon, I'm sorta new here. I suppose that you an' I are room mates then. We started out bad, but I think that you an' I will get along jus' fine, Kan Ingvar." John extended his arm for Kan to shake hands with him.

Kan nodded, "John Lydon... nice to meet ya, I hope we get along as well." Kan was confused... he must've showed John that he wasn't no pushover... or maybe because he had heart... still, he was glad there wasn't going to be no more trouble from then on.

Kan held his hand out and shook it briskly, making a firm handshake... Kan's face still felt like he took a bat to it... it didn't feel good at all... but he shrugged it off and kept a calm face.

And this marked their time as roommates together.
